As you will know we are massive fans of Lumie. We have had a Lumie alarm light for a few years now and it really is great, you can read our review here.
Recently we have been testing out the Lumie Bright Spark SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) Lamp.
What is SAD?…
SAD is sometimes known as “winter depression” because the symptoms are more apparent and tend to be more severe during the winter. The symptoms often begin in the autumn as the days start getting shorter. They’re typically most severe during December, January and February.SAD often improves and disappears in the spring and summer, although it may return each autumn and winter in a repetitive pattern.
I was super excited to give this lamp a try out in these grey dull days of winter. This lamp treats the symptoms of SAD by giving out levels of light equivalent to summer light. The Bright Spark boosts concentration, lifts the mood and restores natural energy.
We all know that in the summer you naturally feel better, being out in the sun and having an outside lifestyle is better than the dull dark days of winter. The Bright Spark is proven to make you feel better and also more awake (must use when blogging at 0200am) If you use this lamp each day it will make a massive difference to the symptoms of SAD which can be tiredness, over-eating and lack of energy.
I have to say the lamp really is very bright and almost lights up our whole close not just a room in our house. To start with I thought it was too bright however after using it more regular you do get used to it and don’t notice it after a while. I do not actually duffer with SAD but I can definitely tell that this lamp brings a lot more energy with it. I have had it on when it has been really grey outside and raining and the lamp really changed the mood inside the house on this day.
Specification of the lamp…
Bright Spark is not too big and can be sat on the side or on a desk or table in the living room. It works by being plugged into the mains, with a switch on the top of it.
Just to let you all know, order up until 11am on the 23rd of December for Christmas Delivery.
