Swimming Lessons

Little Man started swimming lessons when he started school back in September. When he first started he had absolutely no confidence in the water at all. He hated water in his eyes and would scream and cry when I had to wash his hair in the bath. I decided to book him into swimming lessons to try to get Little Man more confident in the water.

When he started he really couldn’t swim at all, he wouldn’t put his head under and he wouldn’t even try to swim even with a float. He would walk along with the float in his hand and pretend to the teach he was trying.

Over the weeks he has become more and more confident and has pushed himself to do better and better each week. Luckily there is only one other boy in the level 1 class and they are now friends. They have both been hoping that they would get moved up to level 2 together.

This week saw Little Man and his friend move up to level 2. they can both now swim without any floats (it may only be a small distance but they can both do it) Little Man is now so confident in the water, he jumps in, goes under, swims on his back and doesn’t cry if some water goes on his face. He was so proud of himself for getting the certificate and his badge and is super excited to be going into level 2 along with his swimming buddy.

Well done on his badge! We have been going to lessons since H was 7 weeks. Over the years though he has made 2 good friends at his swimming lessons and I hope we’ll stay in touch.

  7. Aww a big well done to him! I’d love to take my son to swimming lessons but I only know of one company who does it in our area and they’re quite expensive.
