Over the last year I have been trying to get our garden in some kind of order but it just hasn’t happened. Don’t get me wrong the garden was OK when we moved into our new house, however it needed changing a little to suit us as a family.
There were a few bushes and garden areas which were overgrown and needed sorting out. We needed to add a climbing frame for the kids and get the grass looking a little nicer.
I have been brought up in a family where gardening is a big part of our lives. My Mum used to grow and sell plants from our house and I remember her doing that for most of my younger childhood. The garden at my Mum and Dads house is over an acre with big tress and bushes, veg areas and nice beautiful gardens. You really would think I should be better at gardening than I am. I always remember going out and helping my Dad in the garden at the weekends, grabbing apples down from the huge apple tree.
Now I have my own house the garden isn’t as big but it is the one place that really gets overlooked. Whilst it is tidy and looks ok it isn’t so good when looking closely. It has a few weeds and the slabs are not as clean as they could be, I think most of the neighbours cats use it as a toilet which is so annoying!
I have decided this year I am going to look into getting a gardener to attend just to keep the garden looking nice. It is the one place where other people around us can see as well, so whilst our house is always very clean and tidy they could look at the garden and think it’s not looking its best.
I just need someone who can cut the lawn, keep the hedges and plants looking tidy and general maintenance around the garden really. Unfortunately I don’t have as much time on my hands now with my Mum being poorly. I am looking after my own house and the kids, making sure my Mum and Dad are Ok with everything and also looking after my Grandma doing her shopping and cleaning as Mum is unable to do this at the moment. So someone just to take some of the pressure of my hands at home and help with the upkeep in the garden would really help out a lot.
Do you have a gardener? How often do you have them come over?
