Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere: Book Review

I was delighted to be chosen as a Parragon Book Buddy. We love reading and to be able to review these fantastic books is a pleasure. For September we have been sent Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere which is fantastic preparation for Halloween. We are having a Halloween party and going trick-or-treating so this is a great way to start the excitement of Halloween for Little Man and Bubs

This book follows four little trick-or-treaters on an adventure to the Pumpkin parade where there are lots of Pumpkins everywhere. Hence the title of the book.

As the books that we review are for the baby/toddler age range the book has very few words. The pages are full of fantastic pictures with around 3-10 words per page. I read this book to both Bubs and Little Man and they both love it. Bubs listens and Little Man points at the pictures and talks about what is going on in the pictures. Little Man has just started school so this is fantastic for helping him with his reading. Few short words on each page is a great starting point for his reading.

I found this is a very interactive book and you can do many things with the illustrations such as counting the pumpkins and talking about the different outfits. Little Man wants to dress up on hallowed as each and everyone. The book is soft back and is beautifully illustrated. I love the way the book really encourages the child to get involved with the story. I feel that both of my children aged 4 and 1 can both really benefit from this book.

  1. I love the sound of this book, I keep meaning to add to my wishlist for my daughter! I must do that now. It’s so beautifully illustrated.

  2. What a cute book! I swear there weren’t as many themed ‘seasonal’ books when I was younger as there is now. I’m so jealous of the kids these days that get such an amazing variety of books!

The illustrations are really nice! The colors are bright & engaging. That’s really great that both your 1 & 4 year old enjoy it. This is the perfect time of year for this book! x

Sounds great. I like it when books have big pictures with lots of things going on in them like this so you can make up your own variations on the story to whatever the child is learning about eg. Colours, counting etc

  8. This looks like a great book. I may get this for my little boy as he is already getting super excited about Halloween. This book should help to crank up the excitement even more!
