Our day out at Shreks Adventure London

I first found out about Shreks Adventure from a tv advert. The first time I saw it I knew our Little Man would love it and I knew we had to take him.

Doug had a couple of weeks off and we decided to take Little man and leave Bubs with my Mum and Dad. Little Man had no idea where we were going apart from he knew we were off to London.

We arrived early and had Lunch and walked down the South Bank where all the performers were and Little man loved watching the people on the Skateboards at the Skate park there. We walked up past the Shreks Adventure and he was begging us to take him and we kept saying no, then we eventually told him we were going in. To say he was super excited was a massive understatement and he really could not wait to go in.

So this is a review with a difference, it is a review however I’m not really going to tell you much about the tour. I really don’t want to spoil the excitement of what awaits inside, I will however tell you the structure of the adventure.

When you first walk in there is a photo opportunity for each family. Inside, the adventure is full of different rooms that you have to go into all with fantastic actors. The adventure is that you are travelling to find Shrek. So I will let you in on what I think was an amazing start to the journey. You sit on a bus with everyone else in your group and you wear 4d glasses. Donkey is driving the bus and you go on one big 4d adventure flying through the clouds and crashing down into the water which includes getting a bit wet. Donkey really wasn’t the best bus driver! He accidentally killed one of Rumpelstiltskin favourite witches. Oh on it is now a race against time to find Shrek to help you back home before you are caught. There is also another room where you all sit like you’re the audience of a game show and you have buttons to press to answer questions. Just make sure you get the questions right or something may happen to poor Pinocchio. Oh yeah, make sure you don’t get lost in the Mirror maze on the way.

The whole time we were in Shreks Adventure our Little Man loved it. Everyone else who was in our group loved it and had a fantastic time. There is a lot of interaction and people get picked out of the group to do certain things, just make sure your not the one to get locked in the toilet,Or have to have a jig about up on a small stage.

Although I am not really telling you much about what happens as it will 100% spoil the fun of what comes next once you’re in there, I can honestly say it was amazing. I would go back again as it was so much fun, however the 2nd time wouldn’t be as good as you know what to expect. I would recommend this to anyone, even if you have no children. There were couples in our group with no children and from start to finish it was fantastic.

So why not go on Shreks Adventure and see if you are able to find the lovely Shrek himself!

I’ve seen a few articles about this and I’m interested in taking my son. I’m just a little nervous because we had to walk out of Shrek 3 a few years back because he was scared (not sure why it didn’t seem scary to me), so I think we might need to try the film again first to be sure.

How did I not know about this? Brilliant review. I like how you didn’t give anything away. My girls are still a bit young for this but I will definitely consider it for the future. X

This looks like so much fun! We love the Shrek movies. I wouldn’t like to get locked in the toilet though lol I’m so glad you all enjoyed the day out x

  4. What a fun day you had. I have seen a few reviews from people whose kids were a bit young or a bit old to get the most from it so it’s great to hear how much fun it is when they’re the perfect age.

  6. Wow, this looks ace. I love Shrek and have all the DVD’s (yes, I’m a big kid!) so would love this myself but my boys would love to visit here also.
Getting to see such an iconic character up so close must have been great fun. Just need to plan a trip to London now 😉
