My Blogging Story

I thought I would share my blogging story with you all. Its been a big journey for us all since I decided to start my blog and here 3 years on Blogging Mummy is still going strong.

I decided to start my blog just over 3 years ago. I wanted a place for Little Man who was a baby at the time to be able to read back about all his milestones. I thought the best place to do this would be a blog and so Blogging Mummy was born. I started off writing once a week if that and I just wrote about things we had done as a family and milestones Little Man had reached. It was a fantastic place to come to and to have a sort of online diary for as long as I wanted to keep doing it. I wasn’t sure how long I was going to stick at it and I sure as hell didn’t think I would be where I am today with it.

After a few months of blogging I started to receive review opportunities. I had people contacting me and I had no idea what to do or where to start with replying. My very first friend I made through blogging was Jade from Unique Young Mum (who I am still to meet) She helped me out so much, she gave me templates of how to reply to people, she told me about certain groups and websites to sign up to and Jade was always there if I needed any help. I knew I could turn to her for help any time I needed to. Thank you Jade you’re a star.

I decided to do some reviews but I wanted to make sure my blog was still focused on my family and the reason I actually started writing it. A year or so passed and then I found out we were expecting our second child. So my blog then became about Little Man and my pregnancy and then to be Bubs our second child. I love the fact the of my pregnancy is on this blog, the whole of Little Mans life is noted down and so much more.

Through my blog I have had some fantastic opportunities, only things I could have dreamed of when first starting my blog. Its incredible the people I have met, the friends I have made and the opportunities I have had. Blogging Mummy is now just over 3 years old and I hope we have many more birthdays with Blogging Mummy.

If you are thinking of starting a blog but are not sure if to take the plunge or not I would suggest go for it. You can set up for free with WordPress or blogger and give it some time and see how it goes. If you have any questions please do leave me a comment below and I will be sure to help you out as much as I can.

I had a mummy blog which did really well and I even managed a few reviews. Now I have my more lifestyle combination blog which hasn’t taken off as much but I think it’s because it doesn’t have a niche. Will I continue? Probably. Thanks for sharing – I wish we all had friends like your Jade!!
