Monday 1st September 2014: My upcoming C-Section

So as you all know my due date is 19th September 2014. we are now at 1st September, so sometimes between now and the 19th I’ll be having a planned section.

We know the date but are keeping it a secret so there is some sort of surprise for our friends and family of when baby arrives. The only people who know are my Mum and Dad as they will be looking after Little Man.

I previously had an emergency C-section and was really out of it not really knowing what was going on. This time however I will know everything and to say I’m scared is an understatement. Everything is worrying me but I know there is no other option or way out now. I know that although this is major surgery it is very safe especially being planned. I have a meeting at the hospital with a senior Midwife who went through all my previous birth notes. This made me feel a lot more at ease.

Lots of lovely people have told me their stories and they are all so positive and it really does make me feel a lot better. I’ve read so many other positive stories online and they all say how relaxed and lovely the experience is. This is all very easy to say after and I hope I am one of  those people to give others reassurance once I’ve had my “Positive experience”

Not too much longer to wait now and I’ll let you all know once baby is here 🙂

  1. I know how scary it is. I have had 2 emergency sections and one elective, and am now potentially facing another ‘planned’ section too. The way I see it, the doctors will do all that they can to keep us safe, and planned surgery is always going to be a lot calmer, safer and more gentle than emergency surgery. That said, it is a big deal and you have every right to feel scare Focus on the end result and remember that every little thing is worth it in the end x x x

  2. aww how exciting. It must be nerve wracking but I seriously think any birth is, especially as it s the unknown. I am sure you will be fine though. Can’t wait to read all about it xx
