Being a Mascot for Peterborough United

In my last post I said that Little Man has now turned 5. His birthday was on the 7th May and on Sunday 8th May he had a massive treat. He was Mascot for Posh (Peterborough United) this is something he knew about and something he had been massively excited about for months.

He was so excited about getting to meet all the players and go on a tour around the ground. He hadn’t stopped going on about it and especially meeting his favourite player Marcus Maddison.

We arrived at the ground at 10:15 and we were shown to the David Seaman Suite. This is where we left all of our belongings for the day.

Little Man was then given a brand new full kit to change into before going on a tour around the ground. We  went to the ‘home’ changing rooms where all the players were arriving. Little Man had a football which all the players signed for him, he also had a picture of Maddison for him to sign. We then saw the ‘away’ changing rooms and carried on our tour of the ground. It was a scorching hot day for the special occasion, Little Man was in his element. After the tour had finished Little Man was able to go on the pitch for a coaching session. He then had the opportunity to score a goal in front of all the Posh fans.

He absolutely loved being on the pitch and was so happy, his face just wouldn’t stop smiling! After the coaching session  was over he was able to choose who he wanted to walk on with. Little Man obviously wanted to walk on with Marcus Maddison and we were all so proud of him, watching him walk on the pitch was fantastic and such a proud moment for all of us.

Little Man had one of the best days of his life. He is still talking non stop about his day and he can’t wait to do it all over again next season.

What a fantastic experience for him. I grew up as a West Brom supporter and would have absolutely loved to have been a mascot. Our little boy is only three but is taking an interest in football. Maybe one day he’ll be able to have such an experience too. So glad your little boy had a wonderful day 🙂
