Random Acts of Kindness with Oxfam

Making someone happy and smile is something that I find one of the most rewarding things in life for me. Giving to others makes me much happier than receiving something I really want. A random act of kindness can make someone really happy and make their day. It doesn’t have to be something amazing and over the top just the smallest things can brighten up someones day.

I remember on my very first trip out with both of my children when Little Man was 3 and a half and Bubs was about 6 weeks old. I was over tired and emotional still from and I went to the shop to pick up a few bits. I got to the till to pay for my items (which was about £9) and I had forgotten my purse. I think the man behind could tell that I was flustered, tired and emotional and he paid for my items for me so I didn’t have to go home and back to the shop. This absolutely made my day more than he couldn’t have imagined.

This year I have been thinking about something I can do but feel I have been over thinking it too much, wanting to do something to big and grand. I don’t want to do something that is to over done (if you know what I mean) but I don’t want to do something that’s to big and grande, just nice and subtle that will make someone really happy and really make their day, week, month or even year. Do you have any suggestions? Have you ever been on the receiving end of a random act of kindness or given one?

Thinking about all this and it coming up to Christmas you could just visit someone who will be alone or give to a charity such as www.oxfam.org.uk/donate, Just sending someone a text that you haven’t spoken to in a long time can go a long way.
