A normal Friday night will see me sitting in front of the TV watching some rubbish on TV. Friday just gone was different though, I was invited to a blogger event at Queensgate shopping centre in Peterborough. It is always great to meet up with other bloggers at events so I was really looking forward to it.
The meeting was with perception PR in a meeting room inside McDonalds. Not the most likely of meeting places but as some of you may know they have recently had a brand new make over. The make over just happened to include some lovely little meeting rooms upstairs. After the meeting we had a couple of challenges to go off and do around the shopping centre. (will tell you more about these later)
The event was to discuss the exciting plans for Queensgate which will defiantly see it bring a lot more people into the town centre. So I hear you asking what exciting plans are these…? IMAX cinema will hopefully be coming to Queensgate. This is totally what the centre needs, we need something that will give the area a buzz!
I can reveal that NYX is coming to Peterborough! They will be opening a brand new shop on the 26th June 2016 and I am so happy about this. I love their products and I think many of you will agree this is a fab shop to be coming to the centre. Queensgate are also trying to sign another BIG name but that will have to remain secret at the moment! Make sure to keep checking back though as I will bring you updates as soon as I can.
Next big announcement…. A NEW FOOD HALL! Yay Looking at other big shopping centres they all have one. I am so excited that Queensgate is going to be a lovely place to go and spend the day, rather than just going into town for a couple of shops and then leaving.
So down to the tasks… Myself and my friend over at Mummy Matters were both set the same tasks both being Mummy bloggers. We had to go to Paperchase and check out their current children’s crafting range. I have to admit that I have not been into Paperchase before and this has been a massive mistake. As soon as I walked in I was in my element. They have so many different ranges that are just fantastic. They have a massive range of items for children such as this fantastic ‘colour your own photo album’ Pop in your holiday picture and colour in your own frame, what child wouldn’t like this?
Our second task was to visit the Origins counter located inside John Lewis. We massively over ran on this as it was such a fantastic talk with Greg. I love the products and am gutted that I have only just heard about this brand. Greg spoke to us about the background of the products and where different products come from. In case you didn’t know they use all natural products from places all around the world. Greg showed us a couple of different products for us Mums who don’t have much time on our hands. A Quick and easy skin routine that will leave your skin looking glowing and feeling soft is just what we need. I must send a massive thank you to Greg for the amazing goodie bag that he gave to me.
Our third task was to visit a couple of clothes shops and hunt down the summer must haves! With our family holiday fast approaching this was a great opportunity to check out dome fab clothes. Only one problem… Mummy matters and myself had spent so much time talking with Greg in Origins that we hardly had any time left to do this. We rushed to Warehouse and picked out our summer essentials, which I must add were modelled by 2 lovely ladies who worked there. (really wouldn’t look as good on me) Just a shame we didn’t have more time! I love the hat in the below picture.
Talking about time… did you know Queensgate not only has late night shopping till 8pm on Thursday but Friday too? I have always thought it was Thursday only, so for any one who is stuck in a bubble like me it is Friday too. A little added extra… Car parking is free after 17:30!
After all the shopping we had been gifted a lovely voucher from The Handmade Burger Co. We didn’t actually manage to make it though due to Mummy Matters having to leave. The voucher is valid for a little while though so once the hubby and I visit I shall let you all know how it is (Ive heard raving reviews on it)
So all that is left for me to say is a massive thank you for the invite. It was a great night and a great event and I look forward to bringing you (my readers) lots more exciting updates about the future of Queensgate.
Psssst, keep an eye on this space for more exclusive updates! #qblogger
