Pile up Penguin review

Both of my kids love playing games and its such a great activity to do together as a family. We have been reviewing Penguin pile up and it is actually quite a skilful game. This game is absolutely fantastic for fine motor skills and concentration. To get those little Penguins to stay on the iceberg can be really quite tricky.

The game is for 1-6 players from ages 5 and up and requires no batteries.

Whats in the box…

  • Penguins (which you have to put together yourself on first play)
  • blue base
  • iceberg
  • instruction booklet

To play the game you will need to place the iceberg on the blue base, you will notice that it moves about and spins. Once you have the game ready to play you need to divide the Penguins equally between all players and the youngest goes first. You’re now ready to go, each player takes it in turns to place a Penguin on the iceberg. You have to try not to knock any other Penguins off, if you do all Penguins which fall off are now yours.

To win the game you need to be the first player to place all of your Penguins on the iceberg. I have to say although this game sounds pretty simple it really isn’t an easy task getting those Penguins to stay on the iceberg. The game gets harder when there are quite a few Penguins on the iceberg, it becomes hard to find a place to put them all.

This is a great family game and we really enjoyed playing it together.
