Our weekend in Bournemouth

Last week Little Man, Bubs and I went to Bournemouth for 2 nights to meet up with some very special friends.  As many of you may know Bubs was born with Congenital Hypothyroidism (no thyroid at all) and through a Facebook group we met a family. A family with a little girl born on the same day as Bubs with the same condition. We became really good friends speaking almost every day and we have been great support for each other. We first met up last year and it was great, so we decided to meet up again this year and this how our weekend to Bournemouth came about.

It was actually just the 3 of us because Doug had to work which was a shame, however we still had a fantastic weekend.

The journey took us 5 hours going and the traffic was horrendous which isn’t great when your driving on your own with 2 kids.

We finally arrive and were treated to a lovely BBQ at our friends house. We had salmon, lemon chicken, burgers and sausages which was really delicious. All the kids played together and had a fantastic time and it was so nice to sit and relax after such a long journey.

The next morning the kids and I walked down to the beach early before meeting up with Melissa to go to Moors valley country park which was a massive hit with all the kids. This is an absolutely fantastic place to go to. We ended up doing the play trail which is a walk through the trees, every 3-4 minutes walking around you get to a big play area where the kids can play. It was so exciting for Little Man to see what there was coming up next to play on. After finishing the play train we went on the train ride and then home. By the end of the day all the kids were exhausted and ready for something to eat. We went back to our friends house and had dinner then went back to the hotel.

Al in all we had a fab couple of nights in Bournemouth, the kids loved it and I loved it and it was a lovely break away.
